Engineering x Guitar

I am a current senior at Princeton University studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with minors in Music and Computer Science. The purpose of this website is to document a few of the projects and experiences that I am most proud of, but a little bit about me first -

My dad started teaching me to play the electric guitar when I was about ten years old. In college, I led the Princeton University Rock Ensemble as President and met amazing friends and musicians. I started the band, Casual Riot, which evolved into Spring Street (the premier Princeton-based student rock band, available for hire).

My interest in recording and electronic music drew me toward Jeff Snyder’s New Instrument Research Lab, where I helped develop a new GUI interface in C++ for the Electrosynth. For my upcoming senior thesis, I have begun work on metasurface prototyping for spatial audio in Edgar Choueiri’s 3D Audio and Acoustics lab.

In my free time, I’m developing a polyphonic guitar system. I hand-wound 18 single-string pickups, then developed the supporting electronics (active summing system) with the goal of preserving each string as an independent electrical signal for individual processing. A few other hobbies include sourdough baking, biking/running, and crocheting.
